Fundraiser for the Wayne State University chapter of the Society of American Archivists to attend Archives*Records 2018 conference in Washington D.C.

Our Story

Members of the Wayne State University Student Chapter of the Society of American Archivists (SAA) are seeking your support to attend the annual conference of the Society of American Archivists. With this in mind, we are selling T-Shirts to help defray the cost of some of our members to attend.

This year's conference for archivists and records managers will be held in Washington D.C. this August. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity for aspiring archivists to network, learn industry best practices, and discover innovative techniques. Attendance at the conference will also allow us to showcase a project we have been selected to display. More specifically, SAA officials invited our chapter to present a poster about a project to digitize the Michigan Black History Bibliography Index, an expansive card file designed to provide researchers with citations to both prominent and obscure resources documenting the history of African Americans in Michigan. Developed in the mid-1970s and housed at Wayne State University's Walter P. Reuther Library of Labor and Urban Affairs, it contains citations to sources. A digitized version of the index will allow a wider array of researchers to make use of it. We're excited about presenting the results of this project during the conference in August. No more than three chapter representatives will be presenting the poster, but we feel that nothing should prevent additional archival students from joining us. Your support will allow more of our members to attend.

Upon completion of the campaign, the funds generated will be equally distributed among all student chapter members attending the conference, whether or not they were involved in the poster. These t-shirts bear the seal of Wayne State University alongside the name of the archival program.  Purchasing t-shirts will not only help a group of students advance their education, but prepare the next generation of archivists for careers in the field. We thank you in advance for your support of our endeavors.

What a wonderfully designed shirt!! Plus, what a great opportunity to help send a delegation to DC to represent WSU's School of Information. The opportunity it affords to allow so many to experience the exceptional talent of these student to not only represent the University, but to also shine a bright light on WSU, Detroit and our State. Good Luck!

FAQ's

When will my items ship? Items typically ship within 2-4 weeks after the campaign end date. While we do our best to only feature items with reliable inventory, the delivery timeline may extend if your items encounter backorder issues. Covid-19 has had an outsized impact on many items, and backorder delays are more common. We'll let you know as soon as possible if this occurs. IgniteCX does not guarantee delivery by any date. Also, please note that IgniteCX's liability of the product is complete upon delivery, as confirmed by the shipping company. When will my credit card be charged? If you are making a donation, your credit card will be charged immediately after you place your order. If you are purchasing items, your credit card will be processed within 2 business days after the end of the campaign, rather than at the time of the original order. If, for some reason, this campaign does not reach its batch order minimum requirements, your item order may be cancelled. If you purchased items and made an additional donation, your total contributions will appear on your credit card statement as two separate transactions. How will this charge read on my credit card? Look for the descriptor text on your credit card statement for purchases and donations made through this website to appear similar to this example: BT [CAMPAIGN NAME#####].

Some credit card issuers may display a status of “recurring” on your statement. This does NOT mean that you will be charged multiple times for your donation or purchase. It is simply an indicator for the credit card issuer of how our payment gateway, Braintree, handles payments.
Can I make changes to my order? Please do your very best to be sure all of your order information is correct before placing the order. Because all items in this store are made to order, it can be very difficult to make changes. However, if you absolutely need to make a change, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Can I return or exchange my item? All sales are final unless product is defective. All items are produced and made to order at the end of each campaign. Please double check sizing before placing your order. What is your policy regarding bulk shipments? Once you have received your bulk shipment it is your responsibility to confirm that all individual orders have been accurately fulfilled. Any issues with a shipment must be reported by contacting us here within 2 business days of the shipment proof of delivery date. Other questions about this campaign? Contact us HERE.
